Pala Environmental Department
The Pala Environmental Department works within the Pala Band of Mission Indian’s government to provide environmental protection, cultural resource protection, educational outreach, and intertribal work to the benefit of the people of Pala. PED also works collaboratively with neighboring Tribes and Tribal-serving organizations throughout the United States on climate change, air quality, pollution prevention, sustainable energy, and cultural resource protection.
Pala Environmental Department's Facebook Page
On the PED’s Facebook page, we share valuable information to Tribal and community members. We also share fun pictures of Pala’s people and wildlife, news articles on environmental issues, and the occasional funny animal meme to keep our community educated and engaged.
Pala Environmental Department's YouTube Channel
Welcome to the Pala Environmental Department's YouTube Channel! This is where you will find webinar recordings, educational videos, and other resources relating to protecting and preserving our environment. In addition to caring for the environment on the Pala Indian Reservation in San Diego County, California, we also manage the Tribal Climate Health Project, the Planet Pala community environmental group, and the Tribal Climate & Health Adaptation webinar series.
Tribal Climate Health Project
The Pala Environmental Department established the Tribal Climate Health Project in 2016. This initiative provides resources for Tribes throughout the United States on developing climate change vulnerability assessments and adaptation plans with a focus on community mental, emotional, and cultural health.
